If I had this on NES 17 years back though. I would nail the hell out of this I was good at Super C so, I would've been good at this too. Nostalgia here we meet again.. Great for novices!. Definitely one of the better modern bullet-hell type shmups out there now. Everything about it is top notch and polished. Controls is tight, gameplay is good, and sound and music are excellent, and art direction is great. Ever wanted to see how an 8-bit NES style bullet-hell shmup would look? This is it for you. The bullet grazing concept while not exactly new in the shmups genre, it's used quite well in this game.Only critique i have is that there is no actually way to exit the game from the controller. But, no big deal as the keyboard is right in front of me anyways.I only just started playing this but i'm already digging the hell out of it. Just listening to the sountrack alone is already well worth it. I'm gonna go play this again now.... The art style is good, and the gameplay is about what you'de expect for an indie shmup. If you're looking for something groundbreaking you wont find it, but if you want a charming little shooter you cant go wrong.It has a smooth difficulty curve, and novice difficulties that are a good introduction to the gameplay style. You might still get your butt kicked though~ Two control methods, easy and normal. I'de suggest going with the normal or what they call pro controls. More control over what goes on which leads to more fun.. Very cool game. Even only having played the two characters their seems to be a good amount of variety between gameplay styles for the characters and ships. Initially the graze mechanic can almost seem too forgiving, but you will definitely need it as things ramp up in arcade difficulty or higher. I've not tried the easy difficulty. Recommend for sure. The dialogue is simple and is pretty much just pre boss fight lines, but its nice to see some little element of a "story" thrown in there without it being a drag, or distraction. Looking forward to unlocking more ships.
